After taking a break in the local hip-hop scene for five years, local rapper Yung Reece, real name Edwin Ndlovu, has resurfaced with a new joint titled Ingilosi (angel).
The song — which is meant to be his personal birthday present, will be dropped on 27 June. He described the single as a soft Afro-Naija vibe fused with hip-hop a bit — so as to enable the interactive vibe between the heart and the beat.
“My latest song features local artistes who are new kids on the block by the names of Weslenator, with the production done by Cliff Jeans and Larynx. Ingilosi which means an angel, is a joint that refers to the love that comes to life at an unexpected time frame. Love is a common topic amongst many listeners and I know they will gem to this fine tune,” said Yung Reece.
The rapper said it feels good to be back in the game after a long time as he said he will drop more music that is inspired by life.
“I started music back then but I stopped a bit (in 2019) for personal reasons. Also, soon after Cal_Vin’s death, the hip-hop dream was merely killed with less inspiration in the game, so I had to divert my energy and focus on my school work and mental wellness.
Its amazing to be back and I feel good to give my fans a song as I announce my return in the industry. This is just the begin because I am aiming at releasing more songs during the last half of the year. Music lovers have to brace themselves for quality gems,” he said.
Yung Reece is a self-proclaimed rapper from Bulawayo popularly known in the streets for controversial and potential hits.
He rose to fame courtesy of his single titled Ugogo Olemali which features the late Hip Hop kingpin Cal_Vin.
He also made a joint with Asaph Africa titled Too Bad which was released in 2019. As he returns, he aims to receive nominations on local music awards including the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (RoilBAA) as well as the Zim Hip Hop Awards.
