Zambezi Eagles beat Limpopo Baobabs

ZIMBABWE’S select side, the Zambezi Eagles, put up a spirited fight this morning to grab their first win at the Telkom Netball League games, beating Limpopo Baobabs 56-48 at the Sun City Superbowl.

Coming from two defeats, the Eagles upped their game to secure a victory in their third match.

The guest side got off to a good start, taking a seven-goal lead in the first quarter, but allowed the Baobabs to come from behind in the second quarter and lead 29-27 going into halftime.

However, the Zambezi Eagles stepped up in the third and fourth quarters, in a closely contested game, to claim their first win at the ongoing competition.

They took the third quarter 44-37 and maintained the upper hand until the final whistle.

Lesibane Munjanji-Karaso was named Player of the Match.
