The Zambezi Explorer?

I might as well just say it. It’s a luxurious boat cruise on the mighty Zambezi River aboard the Zambezi Explorer — the watercourse’s largest and most deluxe dinghy.

The Zambezi Explorer is a luxury catamaran that cruises the mighty Zambezi River upstream of the Victoria Falls.

Any boat cruise on the Zambezi River can be a moment of ecstasy.

It’s the Zambezi River, after all. The “Great River” (according the Tonga people who inhabit its middle reaches) is the fourth longest river in Africa, and its banks are inhabited by a diverse range of flora and fauna.

However, this modern catamaran lets you enjoy the best of the Zambezi River and its abundant wildlife in utter comfort and style.

A Morning person?

Are you a morning person? You can enjoy a selection of teas, coffees and fresh pastries served during the Zambezi Explorer’s sunrise cruise. Soak up the sounds of the abundant birdlife and prepare to capture the ‘liquid gold’ allure of the Zambezi’s waters as the sun rises into the African sky. Then there’s the serenity of the river, the lifting mist eases you into the day as the Zambezi River itself emerges from its slumber.

Or do you love your afternoons? Escape from the commotion of the town and enjoy your quiet moments with wildlife along the Zambezi. See gigantic crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks of the river, pods of hippo grunting and herds of elephants bathing in the river.

Or one for sunsets?

Well, I’m certainly one for sunsets! As the day drew to a close, the Zambezi Explorer slowly drifted upstream as if in celebration of the setting African sun.

I had my camera along and took the opportunity to immortalise some special moments that I will forever cherish — a flock of brilliantly white stocks as they skim past the golden waterline — the African sun steeping the surroundings with its rich cherry-golden hue —; all the while enjoying my margarita and a range of hors d’oeuvres that just wouldn’t stop coming my way.

The Zambezi Explorer consists of three decks. The two lower decks provide a 5-star luxury service where guests can choose from an exciting range of beverages and cocktails as well as a selection of delicious snacks.

Its “Signature Deck” is the third level. This is the epitome of pure luxury with gourmet hors d’oeuvres and premium beverages served from a private bar.

Guests can relax in the comfort of the deep set couches and enjoy the extravagance of VIP service.

Go Green!!!

The Zambezi Explorer harnesses the region’s abundant sunshine to generate solar power using an intricate network of photo-voltaic cells.

To sail on the Zambezi Explorer is as good as endorsing one’s commitment towards a greener tomorrow.
