ZANU PF affiliate organisations have been warned to stick to their lane and concentrate on mobilising new members for the party instead of fomenting division within its structures.

Speaking at a mobilisation interactive meeting with the party affiliates’ executive members in Harare this afternoon, Zanu PF Harare provincial Political Commissar Cde Voyage Dambuza said party affiliate organisations should be guided by the revolutionary party’s values and ethos.

“We expect affiliates to mobilise new members for the party, stick to your lane. You should not be found on the wrong side of the law, otherwise, the party will throw you out. Do not create division among party members,’’ said Cde Dambuza.

Zanu PF affiliate organisations, Cde Dambuza said, should promote the party’s collective vision.

“What we want are numbers, not an individual who claims to be a chairman of an organisation without a following,” he said.

“Some of the affiliates are using their links with Zanu PF to solicit money from the public, and some are using their antics for name-dropping.

“Those that are not following party rules will be deregistered; we do not want people who create confusion within the party structures,” he noted.

Cde Dambuza also warned party members to be wary of shadowy affiliates allegedly infiltrating the ruling party to sow divisions.

A number of shadowy groups calling themselves Zanu PF affiliates have emerged, all pledging undying loyalty to the ruling party.

Some of the affiliates have been accused of side-stepping official structures and propping up some politicians for personal benefit.

“We have some people who are riding on affiliates to sow divisions in Zanu PF,” he said.

“As party members, you should be aware of such people. We want unity. We want affiliates who respect party leadership.”

The party, he said, will continue empowering affiliate organisations who are organised under the mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.

“Those who are yet to get their fair share should remain patient. The President is aware of your plight, hence he will definitely avail the revolving fund to everyone,”

Some of the affiliates who attended the meeting are BoysDzamdara, Concord Young Women in Business Zimbabwe, Miners for Economic Development, Young Women for Economic Development, Harare Youth Transporters Association (Hayta).
