THOUSANDS of Zanu PF supporters yesterday converged in Epworth North constituency, Ward 6, for a star rally to drum up support for the ruling party’s candidate, Cde Civilised Bushe, in the council by-election set for tomorrow.

The ruling party says it has registered 8 000 voters who are eligible to cast ballots in the election.

Speaking at the star rally, which was the last before tomorrow’s poll, Zanu PF National Political Commissar Cde Munyaradzi Machacha urged party supporters to turn out in their numbers and vote for the party candidate.

“I am confident that the numbers we are witnessing here will translate into our votes. I urge you to come out in your numbers and ensure a resounding victory for the party,” said Cde Machacha.

He said Zanu PF, under President Mnangagwa’s leadership, is committed to transforming the livelihoods of the people through fulfilling their promises.

The party has carried out several game-changing initiatives for people in Ward 6, including drilling 15 solarised boreholes and rehabilitating roads.

It also installed Starlink and provided laptops for students at schools, such as Kubatana and Chinamano.

Cde Machacha emphasised that the process of regularising Epworth is still underway.

“President Mnangagwa is committed to changing the livelihoods of the people under the mantra ‘leaving no one and no place behind’. We want to transform Epworth into a modern settlement,” he said.

Zanu PF Harare provincial chairman Cde Godwills Masimirembwa implored party members to come in their numbers to vote for the party.

“We expect all registered voters to vote for Cde Bushe,” he said.

Zanu PF Harare provincial Political Commissar Cde Voyage Dambuza implored Ward 6 residents to actively participate and make their voice heard by choosing a candidate who will drive meaningful development.

Cde Bushe will battle it out with Peter Nyapetwa, an independent candidate and Alice Nyahunzvi of the MDC for the council seat.
