ZANU-PF boosts administrative capacity with ICT donations

The ZANU PF party’s administrative capabilities in Harare are set for a boost following a second significant donation of Information Communication Technology (ICT) equipment by the provincial secretary for ICT, Mr Cosmas Mushininga.

The local businessman and Harare provincial executive member yesterday handed over eight state-of-the-art computers, a Wi-Fi kit, and a heavy-duty printer to the ZANU PF District Coordinating Committee (DCC) Four.

This donation follows a prior contribution in June of laptops and internet equipment valued at US$12 000 to the party’s main Harare base.

Speaking during the official handover, Cde Mushininga said the donation was a gesture in honour of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision.

“As a member of the Harare provincial executive and your representative in that structure, l not only want to say this is a token of our appreciation and gratitude to ZANU PF’s grassroot supporters, but a profound gesture made in President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s honour and his vision for an empowered as well as enlightened society,” Mr Mushininga said.

“As stated a few months ago, this equipment is also aimed at capturing and documenting party activities properly such as branch, and cell registrations as well as equip various wings with productive tools or assets that can create opportunities – through access to free internet at party offices, and participation in the digital economy – for the generality of Zimbabweans, and advance our core ideology,” he said.

While Mr Mushininga’s – philosophy and – objective is to help build a modern, efficient and sustainable ZANU PF administrative system, he is of the firm view that some of the “equipment could be used to generate cash for meeting small and daily operational expenses”.
