ZANU-PF Bulawayo Province has unanimously endorsed President Mnangagwa’s leadership beyond 2028, with all five District Co-ordinating Committees (DCCs) making it their top resolution ahead of the party’s 22nd Annual National People’s Conference in Mutare next month.

Zanu-PF Bulawayo provincial chairman, Cde Jabulani Sibanda, announced the resolution yesterday during a Provincial Central Committee (PCC) meeting held at the party’s Davies Hall offices.

Cde Sibanda highlighted the remarkable unity among the DCCs, noting that despite a diversity of resolutions from each district, there was consensus on the Presidency.

“We have districts in various DCCs from DCC 1 to DCC 5 in our province, where we have been formulating resolutions and identifying priorities for the party. Firstly, I’m very proud of you for the unity you demonstrated during the inter-district meetings in your respective DCCs. Your resolutions were not limited to a set number, such as 10 or 20 per DCC. Instead, you made resolutions based on what you believed was necessary,” he said

Cde Sibanda said there was broad agreement on many of the resolutions.
“They all said the same thing. But there is one resolution that stands out as particularly important to our party — the unanimous decision to endorse President Mnangagwa, grounded in the party’s core belief in unified leadership,” he said.

Cde Sibanda linked the decision to the party’s foundational ideology, arguing that a single, strong leader is essential for a cohesive and successful organisation.

“You must understand that we worship one God who created one world. In that one world, He gave us one continent. In that continent, one country. In that country, we are one nation.

“In that one nation, we have one revolutionary party — Zanu-PF. And in that revolutionary party, we have one revolutionary President, Comrade Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa,” said Cde Sibanda, to applause from the delegates.

He expressed pride in the consistent messaging from the grassroots structures.
“I’m very proud that in all the DCCs, your number one resolution is the same — that by 2030, the party, the Government, and all its institutions must recognise that the President should still be serving as the leader of our country,” said Cde Sibanda.

He emphasised the importance of unity and consistent leadership for the revolutionary party to achieve its goals, drawing parallels with the nation’s journey since independence.

“When we speak of a united Zimbabwean nation, we acknowledge that, like any other country, we have people who speak different languages — but they belong to one nation. They form one nation and are led by one leader at a time,” said Cde Sibanda.

He reminded members of the party’s history, from the liberation struggle leading to independence in 1980, to the Land Reform Programme in the early 2000s, portraying these milestones as stages in an ongoing revolution.

“But a revolution does not deliver everything at once. Time passed. In the 2000s, we reclaimed our land for its rightful owners — our people. And as we progress, the party is like a woman in marriage — she becomes pregnant and gives birth to the first child, which is our independence; the second child, land for the people; the third, control of our minerals; the fourth and so on.

But we have not yet reached the ninth or tenth child. As a revolutionary party, we deliver achievements step by step,” said Cde Sibanda.

He reiterated that effective delivery depends on unity and respect for leadership.
“But for us to achieve that, we must be united. And to do it effectively, we must recognise that we have a leader, who was elected based on his experience, revolutionary spirit and capability,” he said.
