Zanu PF Central Committee member Farai Msikavanhu dies

Zanu PF Central Committee member and former Chiredzi West legislator Cde Farai Msikavanhu has died.

Cde Msikavanhu (64) died in Harare on Wednesday morning from suspected complications that arose after he underwent throat surgery late last year.

Zanu PF Masvingo provincial chair Cde Robson Mavhenyengwa confirmed Cde Msikavanhu’s death.

” We are in mourning this morning after the passing on of Cde (Farai) Msikavanhu our Central Committee member in the party. He died in Harare where he had gone for review after a surgery he underwent last year,” he said.

“Zau PF Mavingo province has been robbed of a strong and reliable cadre committed to its revolutionary ideals.”

Chiredzi district development coordinstor Mr Lovemore Chisema also mourned Cde Msikavanhu.

“I am gutted that he is no more after I spoke to him on the phone yesterday (on Tuesday), we have lost an agent of development in Chiredzi district,”said Mr Chisema.

Cde Musikavanhu represented Chiredzi West in Parliament from 2018 to 2023.

He was a leading sugar cane farmer in Mkwasine, Triangle where his Puwevhu Enterprises was a leading cane producer and employed scores of people.

He was also at one time the Agriculture Planning Director at Tongaat Huletts Zimbabwe before retiring to venture into full time farming and politics.
