Zanu PF conducts primary elections in Beitbridge Ward 14

Thupeyo Muleya, Beitbridge Bureau

ZANU PF is today conducting primary elections in Ward 14 under the Beitbridge Rural District Council, with scores of party supporters gathering at seven polling centres ahead of the by-election scheduled for February 21.

The seat fell vacant following the death of the sitting councillor, Cde Milton Ndou, in December.

Five candidates are contesting to represent the ruling party in the forthcoming by-election. These are Cdes Amson Muleya, Thamson Lamola Ndou, Charles Moyo, Reason Moyo and Simon Mdlongwa.

Gwanda District Coordinating Committee chairman Cde David Linda, who is overseeing the process, said all systems were in place for the smooth conduct of the primaries.

“The stage has been set, and voting is proceeding in line with Zanu PF’s democratic processes,” said Cde Linda.

He said the exercise reflects the party’s commitment to internal democracy and orderly candidate selection.
