THE accreditation of delegates attending the 23rd Zanu PF Annual National People’s Conference in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West Province, has begun, with the party’s Director of Information and Publicity, Cde Farai Marapira, saying the process is intended to ensure that all eligible delegates are accredited.
The conference, scheduled for October 12 to 17, will run under the theme: “From Resolutions to Results: Consolidating Economic Development and Deepening Empowerment Towards Vision 2030.”
“Accreditation of delegates attending the 23rd Zanu PF Annual National People’s Conference has started well. Teams have already been deployed to the provinces to accredit members expected to attend this year’s conference,” said Cde Marapira.
He said preparations in Chinhoyi were progressing well ahead of schedule and that everything was moving smoothly.
Media houses are expected to submit their lists by Friday this week for security vetting, with media accreditation set to begin next Monday.
“Accreditation is ongoing, and we will begin accrediting the media next week. We have set a deadline for the submission of names by the close of business on Friday.
“This shows that we are doing everything thoroughly and are not rushing the process. We continue to streamline our approach to ensure that everything is handled as professionally as possible,” he said.
Cde Marapira said the conference was key to consolidating the party’s 2023 electoral mandate and assessing progress made since the last conference.
The gathering is expected to provide clear direction on accelerating the country’s development goals.
“This is going to be a wonderful conference. People are upbeat and looking forward to this gathering, celebrating our achievements and planning for the year ahead under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.”
Local and international companies are expected to exhibit at the conference, with more than 100 companies having already confirmed their participation.
“We have a large number of businesses registering for the Business Expo, and we are seeing major companies signing up.
“Essentially, we have very limited space remaining. We encourage any other businesses wishing to join us in celebrating the achievements realised under the leadership of President Mnangagwa and Zanu PF to register as soon as possible so that we have a fully subscribed conference representing all sectors of society and all facets of our economy,” he said.
He indicated that 60 percent of the exhibition space had already been taken up.
“More than 60 percent of the exhibition area has already been taken up, which is very encouraging.
“Companies have already started streaming in. We expect the exhibition area to be oversubscribed once again this year,” he said.
Owing to overwhelming interest, the party has announced plans to expand the exhibition area.
“We are considering expanding our exhibition space because of the immense interest shown by different companies wishing to exhibit with us,” he said.
Cde Marapira urged interested companies to act promptly, as exhibition space is filling up quickly.
