AS anticipation builds for the upcoming ZANU PF National People’s Conference set to take place in Bulawayo, local business leaders have mobilised significant support for the event, contributing US$35 000 along with over 20 cattle and an array of food supplies.
The mobilisation took place during a breakfast meeting dedicated to strengthening partnerships between the party and business sector on Saturday where attendees pledged donations that included 26 cattle, 12 goats, two tonnes of maize meal, and 3 000 litres of diesel.
ZANU PF politburo member and Secretary for Business Development Cde Elifasi Mashaba emphasized the importance of the business community as vital allies in advancing the party’s vision for an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
“The people of Bulawayo are privileged to host this landmark event, which will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the socio-economic landscape of our city and the entire Matabeleland Region,” Cde Mashaba stated.
He highlighted the potential economic benefits and urged thorough preparations to ensure the conference’s success.

With both Government officials and private sector representatives expected to converge in the city for the event, Cde Mashaba encouraged local businesses to seize this opportunity for growth and revitalization.
He reaffirmed the need for financial and material support for the conference, remarking, “It is our collective responsibility to ensure that this event is a resounding success.”
The business community’s contributions included cash donations exceeding US$35 000, livestock, vegetables, and essential supplies.
To facilitate further contributions, Cde Mashaba provided information on proper donation channels. Monetary donations can be deposited at the FBC Bank’s Robert Mugabe branch into ZANU PF Conference account 1062541020102 for ZiG and 1062541020103 for USD, while material donations can be delivered to Hon Modi’s warehouse.

He assured contributors that all financial and material donations would be properly documented and accounted for, reinforcing the party’s commitment to transparency.
The 21st National People’s Conference, scheduled for October 22-26, 2024, will be attended by the President and First Secretary of ZANU PF, Cde Mnangagwa.
The annual event is critical, as it outlines the political and economic direction of the nation and serves as a platform for grassroots resolutions to be presented and adopted by the party’s Central Committee.
