ZANU PF is following up with Parliament and relevant Government departments to ensure the swift implementation of key resolutions presented at the 22nd Annual People’s Conference, the party’s Secretary for Education, Research and Ideology, Cde Charles Tawengwa has said.

Cde Tawengwa made the remarks at the Zanu PF inter-district meeting held at the Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza on Wednesday as he presented the feedback report on the recent conference.

He said particular emphasis is being placed on Resolution Number One, which focuses on extending President Mnangagwa’s term of office to 2030.

“We are working with the Parliament of Zimbabwe to see how the process of amending the Constitution can be done,” Cde Tawengwa said.

“We are not seeking for President Mnangagwa to go for a third term, but just to extend his term of office to 2030. We need him to complete the implementation of the National Development Strategy 2 so that his vision is achieved.”

Cde Tawengwa emphasised that the President’s continued leadership is vital for economic stability and growth.

He highlighted the significant progress under the current administration, warning that a leadership change could disrupt the positive momentum.

“We have seen a dramatic turnaround in infrastructure, currency stability and investor confidence,” stated Cde Tawengwa.

“To disrupt this positive momentum now, at this critical juncture, would jeopardise the prosperity of all Zimbabweans.”

Cde Tawengwa reaffirmed the party’s unwavering support for the President’s transformative leadership and assured party members of the resolution’s status.

“Resolution Number One will be implemented without fail; it was endorsed by all conference delegates with no objections raised concerning it,” he said.

Delegates at the Zanu PF Conference said since 2018, President Mnangagwa has been on a relentless and uncompromising campaign against corruption, adding that this fight must go on.
