MANY foreign and local organisations rallied behind ZANU PF at its National Annual People’s Conference yesterday, reaffirming their unwavering support for the revolutionary party.
In its solidarity message, the Communist Party of China (CPC) commended ZANU PF for championing development that has uplifted the masses.
“In the 44 years since Zimbabwe gained its independence, ZANU-PF has led the Zimbabwean people to steadfastly safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and to stand up against foreign interference and illegal sanctions.
“The CPC applauds ZANU PF for actively exploring a development path suited to Zimbabwe’s national conditions and for making big strides in building and developing the nation.”
The CPC said it cherished its long-standing rapport with ZANU PF and was committed to further strengthening the already flourishing friendship.
“The CPC values its traditional friendship with ZANU-PF and stands ready to strengthen the sharing of governance experience, deepen co-operation across various fields, and render each other firm support, so as to make new contributions to deepening and enhancing the China-Zimbabwe comprehensive strategic partnership of co-operation and building a high-level China-Zimbabwe community with a shared future.”
Association of Apostolic Churches in Zimbabwe president Bishop Tsungai Vushe said the church unapologetically mobilised their members to vote for ZANU PF during last year’s harmonised elections that the ruling party resoundingly won.
“As indigenous churches, we have been schooled under the Chitepo Ideological School.
“Through this institution, we have discovered that it is not enough to pray for the country only. We need to defend the country by voting for the ruling party ZANU PF.
“During the 2023 harmonised elections we mobilised our congregations to vote for ZANU PF. This is because we are grateful for the work that the Second Republic is doing. The Government has also encouraged us as churches to embark on transformative projects.
“This is why churches are building schools, and hospitals and embarking on projects to uplift our members. All this is because we are following the Vision of the Second Republic.”
Canada-based ZANU PF activist Cde Regis Charumbira, who spoke on behalf of the ruling party’s diaspora districts, paid glowing tribute to President Mnangagwa.
“As the vanguard of the party in the Diaspora, we took it upon ourselves as the people of Munhumutapa to stand in support of Vision 2030. Your mantra, Nyika inovakwa ne vene vayo is a call that we heed. We will run with it until your vision is completely fulfilled. As our great philosopher, we shall forever have you in our hearts and minds.
“Zimbabwe is Open for Business is a testimony to those who reside in the diaspora as we have been coming home to add value to this agenda. We have seen immense development in the residential and industrial sectors all over Zimbabwe. This is the evidence of your hard work.”
The diaspora community, Cde Charumbira said, wished to see the establishment of a stand-alone Ministry that dealt with issues on Zimbabweans living abroad, as they had become an important constituency who remit over US$1 billion back home annually.
President of the Chiefs Council Chief Mtshane Khumalo said chiefs were gratified to be working with the Second Republic in implementing various programmes that have improved livelihoods.
“We live with the people and we are pleased to be working with the Second Republic which has many projects that are transforming people’s lives.”
Zimbabwe Congress of Students Union president Cde Pijiwest Nhamburo lauded the Second Republic for implementing Education 5.0 which has positively transformed the higher education landscape.
Young Women for Economic Development founder and chairperson Cde Tatenda Mavetera said: “We really want to appreciate the success recorded by the Second Republic. No one can argue against the good deeds that ZANU PF has done under your guidance Your Excellency. This conference has come at a time when the Second Republic has recorded many achievements.”
