Zanu PF rescues 5 families after huts destroyed

Zanu PF has come to the rescue of five families in Zvimba whose huts were destroyed by fires started by people, some hunting for mice.

Through its affiliate, Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ), Zanu PF provided the affected families some relief after handing over maize, blankets and utensils last week.

FAZ’s Zvimba South team leader Cde Winnie Jessica Tapfumaneyi said they will also fund the thatching of the houses, and the reconstruction of a burnt and badly damaged house in Ward 3.

“As FAZ, we are campaigning for President Mnangagwa ahead of the 2023 elections,” she said.

“The President is saying no one and no place should be left behind and we therefore are going around in communities identifying the challenges that people face and promise to return to support them.

“Initially, we were making individual contributions as FAZ members to support people in need because our aim is to try and make people happy and attract them to Zanu PF.

“For instance, we are getting maize to help those without grain from our homes. As we support the affected people, we are encouraging them to vote for the Zanu PF Presidential candidate, President Mnangagwa, during next year’s elections.”

Cde Tapfumaneyi said the initiative had helped sway a number of people to Zanu PF and they were now confident President Mnangagwa will romp to a landslide victory.

“People want love and they have seen that the President loves them because of the help they are getting from Zanu PF,” she said.

“We will, therefore, continue to spread the good message about Zanu PF so that citizens know that Cde Mnangagwa cares about them.”

Cde Tapfumaneyi said village heads should discourage people in their areas from starting veld fires as they affected peoples’ livelihoods.

“We thank God that no life was lost in these fires. We should not have people lighting fires to trap mice and hare,” she said while speaking at Gogo Musiiwa’s homestead in Ward 6 where a kitchen hut went up in flames.

Gogo Musiiwa, who received a door for her kitchen and several utensils, thanked Zanu PF and President Mnangagwa, who is the ruling party’s First Secretary, for assisting her.

Ward 6 Councillor Cde Christopher Ndlovu said: “I want to thank the works being done President Mnangagwa. When I came here after getting reports of the fire, I was astonished at the magnitude of the disaster and wondered what I could do for this widow.

“But I called the team from FAZ and they told me that they will definitely support. There are five families affected by fires in this area and I am told FAZ will be going there to assist.

“We are going around urging people not to start fires they can’t control and some are heeding the calls while others are not.”

In Ward 6, Mr Sairosi Naison, who lost all his blankets and clothes after his bedroom hut caught fire, received blankets and was promised that his house would be thatched by FAZ.

At the Mujongondi homestead, village head Mr Lovemore Mujongondi thanked the President for rescuing the family through FAZ.

In Gadzikwa Village, again in Ward 6, Ms Servy Zvipano was thankful after she received utensils and was promised that her hut would be thatched.
