Zanu-PF sends delegation to Sisulu burial

Albertina Sisulu in South Africa.
Cde Sisulu – who was widow of anti-apartheid icon Cde Walter Sisulu – died on Thursday last week at the age of 92.

She will be buried tomorrow in Johannesburg besides her late revolutionary husband.
In a statement yesterday, Cde Khaya Moyo said the delegation includes Politburo members Cdes Victoria Chitepo and Oppah Muchinguri.

He said ANC and Zanu-PF enjoy fraternal relations dating back to the years of the liberation struggle.
“The two former erstwhile liberation movements together with other former liberation movements in the region continue to share a common past, a common vision and a common destiny, in our collective defence of our respective freedoms, independence and sovereignty.

“We were one yesterday, we are one today and we shall be one tomorrow and forever,” Cde Khaya Moyo said.

Relations between South Africa and Zimbabwe remain cordial and firm despite spirited efforts by Western Governments to divide the two neighbours, incoming SA Ambassador Vusi Mavimbela said on Thursday after presenting his credentials to President Mugabe at State House.

A fighter for SA’s liberation, Cde Sisulu was born on October 21, 1918.
She is survived by five children, 23 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
