ZANU-PF members have been called to uphold peace as the party steps up its campaign efforts to ensure a resounding victory for President Mnangagwa and the party in the upcoming harmonised elections that are expected to be held later this year.

Speaking during a party meeting at Pumula Hall in Bulawayo on Friday, Zanu-PF Politburo member Cde Elifas Mashaba commended members for the peaceful primary elections and called on them to now unite and work together towards the victory of the party. Cde Mashaba said the purpose of the meeting was to encourage the party members to maintain the unity which they exhibited during the primary elections.

“During the election period there is a tendency for people to divide each other into groups because they will be running with particular candidates and at times it divides people, but today we are now spearheading the healing process and this will happen countrywide.

“In Zanu-PF we don’t have a winner or a loser because it’s an internal process which is why we are intensifying this process of self-formation and integration which allows the healing process for all those who might feel that they are being left outside,” said Cde Mashaba.

He said with the completion of the process they were happy that all the candidates who participated in the primary elections have pledged to work together.

“We are now looking forward for them to work with the people and garner the five million votes and ensure a resounding victory for the party and President Mnangagwa,” said Cde Mashaba
