spokesperson Cde Michael Sikhosana said the party has started beefing up its preparations for the next harmonised election.
“We will be conducting our district elections in the first week of February. After hosting a successful conference in December last year, we embarked on the verification exercise of our branches and districts to ensure that the party is strong,” said Cde Sikhosana.
“We will be electing officials in all our districts. At the same time we will start mobilising people to prepare for the referendum for the new constitution.”
Cde Sikhosana said the verification process was progressing well and urged residents to gear themselves up for the referendum.
The ongoing constitution making process by Copac is expected to pave way for the next election.
Meanwhile, Copac has said the final product of the constitution making process has begun taking shape after drafters completed a preliminary proposed draft of 18 chapters.
After the drafting stakeholders would be afforded the opportunity to comment on it through their representatives at the second all-stakeholders conference before submission to Parliament and to a referendum.
