THE ruling party Zanu PF continues to show increased dominance and strength in polls after securing a decisive victory in the Matobo Ward 13 by-election held on Saturday.
Zanu PF candidate Precious Mabaleka emerged victorious polling 714 votes while Independent candidate Ntombizodwa Dube received 88 votes with ZAPU candidate Professor Mpande obtaining 29 votes.
The convincing margin of victory reflects the confidence that the people of Ward 13 have placed in Zanu PF’s leadership and development agenda. Voters turned out to demonstrate their commitment to continuity, stability and community-focused governance.
The outcome is seen as a significant milestone for the party in Matobo, reinforcing ZANU PF’s presence and grassroots support in the district. Party supporters and community members celebrated the result as a sign of unity and determination to advance local development.
The victory also signals growing momentum for ZANU PF in Matabeleland South, as communities continue to rally behind programmes aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening rural development.
