CHARMED by the works of the Second Republic, the ruling Zanu PF youths are compiling a book of 1 000 projects that have been carried out by President Mnangagwa in urban constituencies during his five-year tenure.

The book which is in its final stages of compilation will be looking at the granting of title deeds to urbanites, the construction of dams to end perennial water woes in towns and cities, ending of power outages and fuel queues among a host of other achievements.

In an interview, Glen View North aspiring candidate Cde Tumelo Zamanga said he and other young people have been inspired by President Mnangagwa and that people should vote for him again for more development.

“Let us vote for President Mnangagwa he is a leader who is doing tangible works and I believe in his vision of 2030 since we are in the midst of writing a book of 1 000 reasons to vote for ED.

“So far, we have written 600 works which means he has done a lot. We are writing as a group. Among the things he has achieved there is the new airports, roads rehabilitation of more than 10 000 kilometres, power plant, Kunzvi dam and Beitbridge Border Post,” he said.

The youthful leader said development should continue under the able leadership of ZANU PF.

“What is good about the Second Republic is that President is doing tangible things that are there for all to see while the opposition has done nothing. In urban areas, there are piles of heaps of uncollected garbage.

“This is what we are reminding locals that you may have been fooled in the past election, but during the five-year term there is nothing to show off from the current sitting CCC MP and his councillors,” he said.

Cde Zamanga said he was motivated to join the election by the people while he was doing philanthropic work as an ordinary executive member of his district.

“As a businessman in this community, I was paying for school fees under Tumelo Foundation for about 10 learners but right now they are 884. We are trying our level best for all dropouts to go back to school.

“The parents and guardians are the ones who backed me to be in the race saying if I stand on ZANU PF ticket their support was guaranteed,” he said.

The ruling party’s Glen View North candidate said he was doing various life-changing programmes in his community.

“We also do free educational driving school lessons which are conducted at Zororo centre, home clean ups for the elderly above 60 years and we give them hampers,” he said.

“The issue of water was a major challenge here as we recently experienced a cholera outbreak so we sought assistance from our First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa who provided five boreholes which are under installation,” he said.

Zanu PF Glen View North candidate said there is overwhelming support for the ruling party in his constituency.

“In terms of violence the President was very clear even during primary elections where there were reported cases of violence and re-runs so he doesn’t want anything to do with violence. We even have senior party members who were disqualified due to violence,” he said.
