Zanu-PF youths launch magazine

of the liberation struggle and the visionary leadership of President Mugabe.
The magazine, named “Light of Africa” is an initiative of the Pamberi Nevhu/Phambili Ngo Mhlabathi Group, which is bankrolled by Zanu-PF youths.
Officially launching the magazine, Zanu-PF national chairman, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo commended the youths for coming together to do sterling work.
“Sometimes one can’t help thinking the young people of Zimbabwe are a lost generation.
“One has to look at the confusing hairstyles, strange sense of dress . . . and believe that they are American hip-hop artists.
“Indeed as nationalists we sometimes wonder, is there any kind of meaningful leadership that will emerge from these young people.
“So you can understand my good pleasure when I came to know of Pamberi Nevhu, the group and their initiative ‘Light Of Africa magazine’,” he said.
The magazine, he said, showed the young generation understood the significance of the war of liberation and the tenets of freedom, truth and liberty.
The first issue of the “Light of Africa” is dedicated to President Mugabe proving that contrary to the western media propaganda, he was a role model and an icon to young Zimbabweans.
“They admire him as an unparalleled visionary, a principled leader, a courageous man and a living legend.
“This is why we need young people like you who have decided to use the very same weapons to give a true and accurate account of our liberation struggle and of the vision and leadership qualities of our President,” he said.
Cde Khaya Moyo urged the group to report responsibly and ensure the public has access to unbiased truth.
“While the pen is mightier than the sword, it must always be used responsibly and never as a sword to wreak havoc and be a weapon of mass destruction.
“We see this every day in our country by the so called independent media masquerading under the banner of press freedom.
“When Zimbabwe burns, we all perish, irrespective of what political party or newspaper you represent.”
