Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has announced fixtures for the inaugural T10 league which starts tomorrow.
All matches will be played in Harare.
The top eight teams from the National Premier League (NPL) are participating and only Bulawayo Athletic Club (BAC) qualified from Bulawayo. The other seven teams are Gladiators, Takashinga 1 Cricket Club, Takashinga 2 Cricket Club, Great Zimbabwe Cricket Club, Westside Cricket Club, Harare Kings Cricket Club and Elton Chigumbura Academy U23 Lions.
The teams are in two groups and the first group has Gladiators, Academy Lions, Takashinga 2 and Great Zimbabwe. The other group has BAC, Harare Kings, Takashinga 1 and Westside.
The tournament, which will be the last of the domestic season before the new one starts, is following the NPL T20 Blast which was won by the Elton Chigumbura Academy in June after they beat Westside.
Gladiators will kick start the campaign, which will be having three matches a day tomorrow against Elton Chigumbura Academy Lions at Harare Sports Club. Mid-morning will see Takashinga 1 play against Harare Kings and the final match of the opening day will be Takashinga 2 against Great Zimbabwe in the afternoon.
The second day of the games will see BAC battle it out against Harare Kings in the morning, followed by Gladiators and Takashinga 2 mid-morning. The last match of the day will be between Westside and Takashinga 1 in the afternoon.
Academy Lions will face Takashinga 2 on day three of the tournament in the morning while Westside and BAC will battle in the mid-morning game.
The afternoon match will be between Gladiators and Great Zimbabwe.
On Sunday, Westside will face Harare Kings in the morning, followed by a mid-morning match between Academy Lions and Great Zimbabwe. Takashinga 1 and BAC will close off the day’s matches.
The teams will take a rest day on Monday and reconvene on Tuesday where the morning match will be between Gladiators and Lions. Takashinga 1 will face Harare Kings mid-morning and in the afternoon Takashinga 2 will play against Great Zimbabwe.
BAC and Harare Kings will start Wednesday fixtures, followed by Gladiators and Takashinga 2 mid-morning. The afternoon game will be between Westside and Takashinga 1.
The following day’s fixtures will be between Academy Lions and Takashinga 2 in the morning while in the mid-morning fixture, Westside will face BAC and Gladiators will play against Great Zimbabwe in the final match of the day.
On Friday, Westside will face Harare Kings in the morning, Academy Lions will play Great Zimbabwe mid-morning and Takashinga 1 will face BAC in the afternoon.
The tournament will be closed on Sunday where the first match will be between the winner of group one and runner up group two. Runner up group one will play against the winner of group two to determine who takes the spot in the final.
The final will be played in the afternoon and all the games will be played at Harare Sports Club.
