THE Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) will this week be handing over a number of public infrastructure developmental projects that were done under the community assistance programme this year in celebration of the Community Assistance Week.
Among the key projects are Mbamba Clinic in Tsholotsho District, Matabeleland North Province, Nyavira Secondary School in Nyabira, Mashonaland West Province and Tongogara Clinic in Shurugwi, Midlands Province.
In a statement, ZDF said in line with the tradition of assisting needy communities, the defence hierarchy will this year handover some completed public infrastructure developmental projects during the Community Assistance Week Programme starting tomorrow — Monday 7 August to Friday 11 August 2023.
“These projects will be presided over as follows, the Secretary for Defence and War Veterans Affairs, Mr Aaron Nhepera will hand over Mbamba Clinic in Tsholotsho District, Matabeleland North Province on 07 August 2023.
“Commander Zimbabwe National Army Lieutenant-General David Sigauke will hand over 1 x 4 classroom block at Nyavira Secondary School in Nyabira, Mashonaland West Province on 09 August 2023,” said ZDF in the statement.
“Our star project which will be officially handed over by the Honourable Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs Cde Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri (MP) is a new classroom block and four refurbished classroom blocks at Gurungweni Secondary School in Chikombedzi District, Masvingo Province on 10 August 2023.”

Commander ZDF, General Philip Valerio Sibanda will also hand over Tongogara Clinic in Shurugwi in the Midlands Province on 11 August 2023, while other completed projects will also be handed over by general officers during and after the Community Assistance Week.
“Free medical assistance will also be offered at Gurungweni Secondary School in Chikombedzi as well as Idube and Lastly Clinics in Hwedza throughout the Community Assistance Week,” said the ZDF.
