Zebra Revolution beat Nust to stretch lead

BULAWAYO Province Division Two action was this weekend highlighted by Zebra Revolution win when they beat stubborn Nust FC 3-0.

It was victory that saw the Mkhokheli Dube mentored side open a five point lead from Chicken Inn who are under the guidance of ex-Zimbabwe youth international Guide Goddard.

Young Gamecocks, who are on position two went down 1-0 to Pumula-based Toronto.

In an interview with this publication, Zebra Revolution’s Brandon Gumbo said they are geared up to give a strong fight and earn promotion.

“It would be difficult to imagine us being where we are right now with how things have unfolded in the first leg where Chicken Inn were unplayable and other people had already crowned them champions. We knew that we had the mental strength to pick ourselves from the position we found ourselves in, but we also understood that it is not an easy task as everyone has something to play for at this stage of the season. We are going to continue fighting for better results,” said Gumbo.

He added: “We also cannot afford to relax, it’s a five point gap. We were once behind by much more points than these, therefore we should understand how good our rivals are and in no time they can just regain the lead,” said Gumbo.

On the other hand, Chicken Inn attacking midfielder Michael Ndlovu has said that his team has to remain positive.

“We have to leave the past behind us. We know what we have done before. We also know what we can still do going forward and there is still enough time for us to recover,” said Ndlovu.

This coming weekend, Zebra Revolution will make a short trip to Khami Prisons for their date against Khami United.
