Zec sets date for elections run-off

THE Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) has set 11 September as the date for the holding of run-off elections in nine wards where candidates received an equal number of votes.
In a statement on Wednesday, the electoral body announced that it had set up nine special polling stations, which would be located in specified centres in the affected districts.

“Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 51 (3) of the Electoral Act (Chapter 2:13) that the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has identified polling stations where voting will take place on 11 September.
“Voting will commence at 7am and end at 7pm on the voting day,” said Zec.

Four polling centres would be set up in Kusile Rural District Council’s ward five in Lupane, Matabeleland North.
The polling stations are Esibombo, Msewele, Kana and Sinqobile Primary schools.

In Mashonaland West there would be two polling stations in ward four of Kadoma Municipality.
These are Mabanana Creche and Rimuka Number 4 ground.

Three polling stations would be set up in Manicaland province’s Mutasa Rural District Council in Ward 30.
These are Muterere Secondary, Pimai Primary and Rumbidzai Rest Camp.
