ZEGU Rhinos win silver in Nairobi, Kenya

THE Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU) rugby team, known as the Rhinos, have won silver in Nairobi, Kenya, at the 2025 Africa Universities Rugby 7s Championships after they lost 17-14 to Jomo Kenyatta University in a hotly contested final.

On their way to the final, the Rhinos dominated their pool which had Kenyatta University (Kenya), Jomo Kenyatta and Kabarak University.

This year’s edition of Africa Universities Rugby Championships had 14 teams from different countries but was mainly dominated by teams from Kenya.

Rhinos earned the right to represent the country at this year’s tournament after winning the Zimbabwe Tertiary Institutions Sports Union games.
