Zekumbawire returns to City

Takudzwa Chitsiga, Harare Bureau
HARARE CITY will welcome back big striker Francisco Zekumbawire when they host Chapungu in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Rufaro this afternoon.

The former Dynamos and Hwange striker has not seen action in the league this season due to injury but is now fit to play.

Zekumbawire last played in the CAF Confederation Cup where he picked the injury.

“I think we are going to do well against Chapungu who are struggling a bit. It is a matter of time before we start winning, we are not playing badly but luck was not on our side,’ said the striker.

“It is very encouraging we managed to get a point away from home against Highlanders and that will be a motivating factor.”

The Sunshine Boys have won two games at home this season.

But they were beaten by their bogey side Tsholotsho at the same venue.

“We are prepared for Chapungu, they are physical side who need maximum concentration throughout the 90 minutes,” said coach Taurai Mangwiro.

“We will be without James Jam, Ronald Chitiyo, Grail Kufandada and Arnold Chivheya.

“The gap left by the absent players will be hard to fill but we will have to do with what we have.

“The team has been doing well and after a draw away to Highlanders everyone is looking forward to the game tomorrow (today).”
