ZIMBABWE Golf Association president Martin Chikwana is set to run for office again at the ZGA annual general meeting set for Royal Harare Golf Club this Saturday.
Chikwana has been nominated for the president’s post and no other candidates have thrown their names in the hat at the moment.
In total, three posts will be up for the grabs at the upcoming elective AGM.
There will also be the election of two vice-presidents in line with the ZGA constitution.
So far, Chikwana and the current vice-presidents Staline Masiya and Munodawafa Mutopo, are up for re-election and could bounce back uncontested if no challenges step forward in the next 48 hours.
ZGA administration officer Tirivashe Nheweyembwa confirmed the AGM dates saying the event will be held in line with the association’s constitution.
“We are having our annual general meeting which seeks to elect three top posts for the president and two vice-presidents’ posts.
“The elections will be held at Royal Harare and provinces represented by their respective presidents and other board members like the Zimbabwe Open Committee chairman, as well as the head of technical, are liable to vote in the elections,” he said.
Chikwana came into office in 2021 when he replaced Mufaro Chiwoniwoni.
