THE Zimbabwe Golf Association have released the 2022 calendar which is packed with a number of tournaments.
The top local amateur players will fight in several tournaments with the Dugmore Trophy to be played in Bulawayo on January 22 and 23 expected to open the season.
In the international scene, the South Africa Strokeplay will set the ball rolling from March 4 while the amateurs will also return to Harare for the Julius Robinson at Wingate.
With a loaded schedule, the players will hardly take a break as the next stop will be Kadoma Golf Club for the MAWEGU Championship before they proceed to Bulawayo Golf Club for the Matabeleland Amateur, on May 19 and 20.
Then, the golfers will compete in the Harare Amateur in May before they go on another international expedition to Luanda, Angola, for the Region 5 tournament from April 26 to May 1.
The months of June, July and August will also have three tournaments — the Chapman Grand Slam, Midlands Amateur, and the national finals – which are qualifiers for the All Africa Challenge tournament.
A three-day Zimbabwe national amateur tournament is set for November; the same month the Platinum Classic will be held. Filande will close the season on December 3 and 4.
