One of Zimbabwe’s finest musicians Leonard “Karikoga” Zhakata will be part of stage when the Makomo @7 gala roars into life at the Colliery Stadium on Friday evening.
Also featuring for the first time is jazz maestro Jeys Marabini and zimdance sensation Winky D. Eusabia Rayire from the Eumo Promotions stable told Sunday Life that logistics were now in place for the show which starts in the afternoon at the mine before the evening gala which kicks off at 7 pm up to the following morning.
“The gala is on this Friday, (6 October) and we have an afternoon show at the mine and I am happy the preparations are going on very well. The music lovers will as per tradition get value for their money as we always bring top notch musicians.
This year we have three new faces namely Leonard Zhakata, Jeys Marabini and Winky D coming in for the first time.
The trio will join the usual big names on this show like sungura maestro Alick Macheso, the Charambas, Peter Moyo and some local artistes. According to Rayire, popular local musical outfits Marasha Moto Express Band, Kwejani Band and eccentric solo musician Shadreck Kativhu will also be part of crew taking turns to illuminate the stage.
