After being voted the best musician of 2014 at various platforms for his album “Zvangu Zvaita”, Leonard Zhakata will tomorrow stage a show to thank his fans, partners, sponsors and promoters for supporting him.
The show will be held at Dandaro Inn at Harare Exhibition Park (Showgrounds) and fans will enter the venue for free to celebrate with their singer.
The show will be preceded by a cocktail to which Zhakata has invited selected guests from various sectors of the arts industry.
Zhakata recently thanked followers and supporters of Zora music for their votes that saw him winning the Zimbabwe Music Awards’ Outstanding Musician of the Year accolade and getting three slots on the Coca-Cola Radio Zimbabwe Top 50 charts including the first and second positions.
Songs “Dhonza Makomborero”, “Dollar Boy” and “Chapter Yerudo” have made the musician a hero.
“I cannot achieve such things alone. It takes support and votes from fans to make it big at such prestigious competitions. I want to thank all who voted and those who have supported Zora music in various means,” said Zhakata.
“We have come a long way and we are here because we never walk alone. Every musician needs fans to keep going and there is every reason to salute fans when we get recognised on national platforms.”
A spokesperson of Dandaro Inn said Zhakata made a request to have a show at their venue after receiving his awards from Coca-Cola for the Radio Zimbabwe Top 50 achievement.
“He is very happy for his achievements and he said he cannot celebrate alone.
He has invited fans, sponsors, partners, fellow musicians, promoters and the media to be part of the event. After the formal celebrations, all fans will be invited to attend the show for free. It is likely to be a historic show and we are glad Zhakata chose Dandaro Inn for the show,” he said.
