The Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC) has brought together stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss ways of strengthening its administrative justice mandate.
This is aimed at promoting collaboration and dialogue between different sectors to identify challenges, share best practices, and explore innovative solutions.
Speaking at the stakeholder engagement meeting on administrative justice held at Chinhoyi University of Technology on Wednesday, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Marian Chombo said administrative justice is key.
“This meeting is not just a formality, but an opportunity for us to reflect on our collective responsibilities and explore how we can enhance the mechanisms that ensure efficiency, fairness, transparency and accountability of our administrative processes,” she said.
Established in terms of Section 232(b) and 242 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, ZHRC is mandated to promote, protect, and enforce human rights and administrative justice for all citizens.
Minister Chombo said the Government is committed to promoting and protecting human rights, recognising administrative justice as a vital component of democracy and good governance.
“I reaffirm our Government’s commitment to promoting and protecting human rights, democracy and good governance,” she added.
