Zifa confirms details for Benin, Zimbabwe clash in September

Online Reporter

The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has confirmed the details for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C Matchday 7 fixture between Benin and Zimbabwe next month.

Benin will host the Warriors at a neutral venue in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, due to the unavailability of approved stadiums in their country.

The match is scheduled for September 5 at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, which also hosted the 2023 AFCON final between Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

Zimbabwe will also play their Matchday Eight encounter against Rwanda at a neutral venue, as there are currently no suitable stadiums in the country. The Warriors will face Rwanda at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on September 9.

Meanwhile, the Warriors face a slim chance of qualification, sitting at the bottom of the table with four points—nine behind leaders South Africa—with only four matches remaining.
