ZIFA educates clubs on player movements

ZIFA has offered clubs tips as transfer window activity intensifies.

Below is an update made by the football mother body on their social media handles:

Clubs

Before engaging a player, verify their former club and get a clearance letter and/or another proof of last contract end date to avoid potential registration challenges.

In international transfers, knowing the correct former club helps the new club to request for an International Transfer Certificate from the correct football association.

For Example

If a Zimbabwean player’s former club is in South Africa, the ITC of the player is requested from the South African Football Association. 

At a time when FIFA is leveraging on technology to increase transparency on the international transfer market, it’s becoming ever-important for all football clubs and academies to register their players on Zimbabwe Connect to ease the international transfer process.
