AFTER parting ways with former chief executive Jonathan Mashingaidze, ZIFA are head-hunting for a new head with the domestic football mother body yesterday inviting applications.
In the set up of the ZIFA executive committee, the chief executive is the secretary-general and ex-officio in the board.
The association’s chief operating officer Joseph Mamutse has been acting chief executive since Mashingaidze left at the end of April.
ZIFA yesterday began advertising for the job with applications expected to have been submitted by September 30.
According to the notice posted on the ZIFA website, the chief executive will also lead in the association’s budget formulation.
“The incumbent is expected to carry several roles some of them which include implementation of decisions passed by the congress and executive committee, organising meetings for the congress and executive committee, standing committees and provide secretarial services as well as lead the process of the Association’s budget formulation and control.
“The secretary-general will also be expected to plan all national team and club presentations in CAF matches in addition to managing relations with managers stakeholders and affiliates among others’’.
ZIFA’s ideal candidate is expected to have a commercial degree or a relevant sports management degree along with technical appreciation and understanding of financial management.
In confirming their search for a new chief executive, ZIFA vice-president Omega Sibanda said they were also prepared to look beyond the country’s borders for the suitable candidate.
“Our advert had no boundaries. We are looking for any individual with the qualifications and attributes needed.
“We are even prepared to look beyond borders for the person to fill the vacancy.
“Of the applicants three candidates will be finally selected by the executive committee while the president will approve the final single applicant who will take up the general-secretary’s post,” said Sibanda.
Sibanda, however, did not review when they expected to appoint the new chief executive.
