ZIFA have begun a CAF B Refresher Coaching Course in Harare to enable local football coaches to keep abreast with the changing football trends and update their knowledge in line with the latest CAF guidelines.
The week-long programme runs from Monday up to Friday.
The course is being facilitated by ZIFA Head of Technical, Dominique Niyonzima, and also serves as a mentoring and assessment platform for coach educators Wilson Mutekede, Tafadzwa Mashiri, Sithethelelwe Sibanda and Joseph Sibindi, who will be assisting throughout the week as part of their own professional growth.
The opening ceremony took place on Monday morning at the ZIFA Village in Mt Hampden, marking the start of an intensive week of learning and collaboration.
According to ZIFA, the practical and classroom sessions will continue through the week at various venues, with final assessments and a closing session set for Friday.
“The programme underscores ZIFA’s continued commitment to strengthening coaching standards across the country and ensuring that local coaches stay up to date with evolving trends and methodologies in modern football,” said a statement from ZIFA.
“The refresher course is exclusively for current holders of the CAF B Licence and provides an opportunity for coaches to refresh their knowledge in line with the latest CAF guidelines.
“The week-long programme combines theory and practical sessions designed to help experienced coaches reconnect with modern tactical, technical, and player development approaches.”
