THE Zifa Southern Region Division One League action enters Week 13 this Saturday with potentially exciting fixtures lined up at different venues in the region.
Log leaders, ZPC Hwange will meet last season’s second runners-up Talen Vision at Chakona Stadium in Hwange while Mainline will be hoping to utilise home advantage when they take on DRC United at Plumtree’s Dingumuzi Stadium.
Army side Indlovu Iyanyathela will square off against Ajax Hotspurs at Mzilikazi (Brady) Barracks.
Zebra Revolution have a date against Zimbabwe Saints at White City B Arena. Filabusi Government Primary School will be the venue for the game between Jordan Sinnot and Casmyn. Victoria Falls City will fight it out against Adachi at Chinotimba Stadium while Bossso90 entertain Mosi Rovers at White City B Arena.
Bulawayo City will lock horns against Nkayi United after a Week 12 fixtures schedule that saw ZPC Hwange’s winning juggernaut finally come to a halt after they were held to a nil all draw by Zimbabwe Saints.
Before the match, ZPC Hwange, who were last season’s first runners-up, had gone for an impressive 11-game winning streak. The power generators, who are under the guidance of Mebelo Njekwa, are now on 24 points, nine points ahead of second placed Casymn.
Zimbabwe Saints, who have so far won five, drawn four and lost twice in 11 outings, are perched on position six with 19 points. Casymn thumped Indlovu Iyanyathela 2-0 to remain glued on number two, five points ahead of third-placed Mainline who were edged 1-0 by Johannes Ngodzo -mentored Adachi.
“It was a good win for us as we continue to chase the log leaders. We will keep on working hard and our combinations are beginning to show signs of improvement,” said Ngodzo. Adachi are on number four, one point ahead of Nkayi United who in their previous encounter accounted for Zebra Revolution on a 2-1 scoreline.
It was Zebra Revolution’s sixth defeat of the season on a weekend that saw Bosso90 suffer their biggest defeat of the season when they fell 11-1 at the hands of Hwange-based DRC United.
Golding Dube and his Talen Vision charges made lightweight of seemingly rejuvenated Victoria Falls City whom they thumped 3-1.
Owen Milanzi, Ashbold Maphosa and Passmore Dube scored for Talen Vision while Blessed Moyo got the consolation goal for Victoria Falls City. Talen Vision are at number seven with 18 points, one ahead of Victoria Falls City who are tied on 17 points with DRC United.
Ajax Hotspurs registered their third draw of the season when they played a nil-all stalemate against Bulawayo City. Hotspurs are still second from the bottom with six points, two ahead of Bosso90 who are yet to post a win after 12 rounds of play.
