Zika begin Judgment Day preps

scheduled for early next month in Beitbridge.
The event is pencilled for November 5 with the main bout featuring Zimbabwe’s Bernard Robin against Jarkko Jussila from Finland. There will also be supporting bouts for the main match.

Zika president, Tony Kamangira said preparations are progressing on well.
“Preparations are at an advanced stage and everything is going on according to plan. We are just waiting for the guys from Finland to confirm their date of arrival. Pakistan have indicated that they are interested in taking part in the tournament but they are waiting for their sponsors to confirm if they can cater for the expenses involved.

“As for ourselves we have already started training on a daily basis and our main fighter in this tournament, Bernard has improved a lot since we began the training session.
“He is based in Beitbridge so sometimes I give him the basic syllabus which he uses when he is practising on his own. But he is currently here in Harare,” said Kamangira.

The Zika president is hoping for a win the forthcoming after national champion Brighton lost in the last tournament held in Harare in August.
“We have quite good chances of winning because Bernard is a good fighter. The match will go for seven rounds and we are going to have 10 fighters who did well in the local tournaments we held this month competing in the supporting bouts,” said Kamangira.

Kamangira said they are also going to have a two-day seminar in Hare after the tournament in Beitbridge.
The seminar will be conducted by Jussila from November 7 to 8.
“We want to teach people about the concept of kickboxing. It’s good to engage other people who have the experience from outside the country to help us. We will be dealing with the full conduct since it is the style we

practice and how do we go about it,” said Kamangira.
