Amateur championship tournament is set to take place in South Africa.
Zimbabwe successfully hosted the women’s All Africa Challenge Trophy and might get the nod to host the men’s event.
Martin Rateiwa, the president of ZGA who announced the team to represent Zimbabwe, said they have already sought authority from the Sports Commission.
“We have sought permission from the Sport Commission to bid to host the next edition of the AACT.
“We are hopeful that we will win the bid to host the tournament and it will be a pleasure as we have good golfing structures in the country,” said Rateiwa. The team of Clive Nguru, Emmanuel Hungwe, Nick Golbert
Masunga and Kayman Mandhu will represent the country while Gordard will be the non-travelling reserve.
Meanwhile, the annual women National Foursomes, which were supposed to take part at Country Club over the weekend, failed to tee off.
The tournament, which usually draws a large field, surprisingly failed to attract participants this year.
The tournament is the second on the ZLGU calendar to fail to tee off.
ZLGU public relations officer Helen van Rensburg said the tournament was done for this year.
“The National Foursomes has been cancelled this year due to lack of entries.”
