Zim duo transfer listed at Red Lions

ALMOST half a year ago, the Zimbabwe duo of Knowledge Jimu and Blessing Sande wrote to their respective clubs Manzini Sundowns and Green Mamba to be let go and their wishes were granted.

Their decisions were informed by lack of game time and the duo prayed for greener pastures.

What they prayed for was granted and coincidentally the two joined MTN Premier League of Swaziland outfit, Red Lions and became regulars to a relegation fight that only bore success on the closing day.

Sadly, six months down their contracts, Lions, in a bid to breathe a new lease of life have announced sweeping changes that have left both Jimu and Sande out in the winter cold and club searching.

The former Dynamos and Eagles keeper, Jimu, arrived in the country in 2012 joining the then Rodwell Dhlakama coached Manzini Sundowns spending two seasons.

He then replaced Ephraim Mazarura at Mbabane Swallows. This was after Mazarura had moved back to Zimbabwe where he joined How Mine.

After the arrival of Sandile Ginindza, Jimu fell down the order before eventually being shipped out due to the foreign quota restrictions. HeA was forced to rejoin Manzini Sundowns.

The arrival of Sihlangu second choice keeper, Sandanezwe Mathabela, at Sundowns pushed Jimu to Red Lions.

Sande arrived in Swaziland for two seasons joining Green Mamba then under, Dhlakama but the departure of the former Under 17 national team coach left him vulnerable.

Hebert Maruwa was to limit Sandeas appearances forcing the player to request to be released landing him at Lions.

The duo could not be reached for comment as they are back home on off season but the latest development could mark the end of their Swazi sojourn.
