FOLLOWING a disappointing cancellation last year due to organisational challenges, the Zimbabwe Fashion Week (ZFW) aims for a triumphant return this year.

Zimbabwe Fashion Week Trust is determined to deliver a successful event, with this year’s edition scheduled to take place from October 8 to 2 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, formerly Meikles Hotel, in Harare.

Organisers promise a galaxy of talented designers and innovative collections, highlighting the dynamism of Zimbabwe’s fashion scene.

According to event organisers, this year’s edition promises to showcase an array of talented designers and innovative collections, highlighting the vibrant fashion scene in Zimbabwe.

Attendees can look forward to a series of runway shows, workshops and networking opportunities that celebrate creativity and style.

With its commitment to promoting local talent, the ZFW Trust aims to promote Zimbabwean fashion on both national and international stages.

Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub understands that the timely announcement is meant to give service providers, partners, and designers ample time to prepare for an event designed to light up the capital with stunning costumes.

A brainchild of Priscilla Chigariro, this year’s event will be a showcase of Zimbabwe’s creativity and fashion innovation.

In a statement, Chigariro assured fashion enthusiasts that this year’s edition is a game-changer meant to leave a lasting impression.

“This year’s event promises to be a spectacular showcase of Zimbabwean talent, creativity and innovation within the fashion industry, building on the successes and lessons from previous editions since the inception of the first event in 2009.

Over four days, ZFW 2025 will feature runway shows from established and emerging designers, insightful workshops, networking opportunities, and engaging presentations, all set against the elegant backdrop of the Hyatt Regency Harare (formerly The Meikles).”

“We are delighted to be hosting Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2025 at the esteemed Hyatt Regency Harare,” remarked Chigariro, founder of the Zimbabwe Fashion Week.

She also expressed her desire to partner with major brands to ensure that the fashion fête meets international standards.

“Since our journey began in 2009, we have always endeavoured to partner and collaborate with brands whose values and delivery align with those of our organisation.

“This partnership with Hyatt Regency Harare allows us to elevate the ZFW experience for both participants and attendees, providing a world-class venue to celebrate the incredible artistry and potential of Zimbabwean fashion,” Chigariro emphasised.

She added, “The Zimbabwe Fashion Week continues to serve as a vital platform for promoting local designers, connecting them with regional and international buyers, and fostering growth within the Zimbabwean textile and apparel sector.

“The 2025 edition will build upon this long-standing legacy, highlighting the diverse cultural influences and contemporary trends shaping the nation and continent’s fashion landscape.

“Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2025 invites fashion enthusiasts, media representatives, buyers, and the public to join in celebrating the vibrant and dynamic world of Zimbabwean fashion at the Hyatt Regency Harare this October.”

With a technological revolution set to benefit designers, Chigariro has made more information available on their website for registration. Designers interested in participating in the 2025 ZFW can also submit their work through the website.

“Through its annual events and initiatives, ZFW provides a platform for emerging and established designers to connect with industry professionals, media, and consumers.

“ZFW is committed to promoting sustainable practices, cultural heritage, and innovation within the Zimbabwean and Pan-African fashion industry,” remarked Chigariro.

With local designers eager for platforms to showcase their work, ZFW is a vital space where both established and new designers can exchange ideas and collaborate.

As Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2025 approaches, anticipation builds for a transformative event that promises to shine a spotlight on local talent and creativity.

With its rich history and commitment to innovation, ZFW continues to play a crucial role in shaping the future of fashion in Zimbabwe and beyond.

Attendees can expect a vibrant celebration of style and culture that not only honours tradition but also embraces the future of fashion in the region.

However, the big question still remains: Will ZFW 2025 successfully translate its vision into reality?
