Zim gears for digital economy

The country’s digital landscape has taken a major step forward with the official opening of the IMC Communications Digital Experience Centre in Avondale, Harare.

Information Communication Technology (ICT), Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera said IMC is set to revolutionize how Zimbabweans interact with mobile and satellite connectivity.

Speaking at the official opening, Minister Mavetera said the state-of-the-art facility is a crucial milestone in the country’s push for digital transformation, aligning with the country’s Vision 2030, which aims to attain an upper-middle-income economy through technological advancements.

“This centre is a celebration of how mobile connectivity shapes our future,” she said.

“It is directly contributing to the Government’s goal of establishing Zimbabwe’s digitally empowered economy.”
