Zimbabwe has launched its climate change gender action plan to support Vision 2030 of a transformed, more effective, inclusive, resilient and sustainable economy.
The launch of the plan is to ensure no one and no place is left behind, through addressing climate change vulnerabilities.
Minister of Women’s Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Dr Sithembiso Nyoni, launched the plan today at the Zimbabwe Pavillion at the COP 27 underway in Egypt.
In her address, Minister Nyoni said climate change and gender were both cross-cutting development issues, which need to be mainstreamed across all sectors to build the resilience of communities to the effects of climate change, and to promote sustainable socio-economic growth.
The launch was attended by senior Government officials, development partners and representatives of a number of countries.
