NDOMUPEISHE Chipendo raised the country’s flag high when she participated at the Sauti Za Busara Festival in Zanzibar.

She is a stage manager.

The Sauti Za Busara festival is held annually in February.

It focuses on live music from various artists from Africa and local artists — Selmor Mtukudzi, Flying Bantu, Mary Anibal, Nasibo and Mokoomba — have performed there.

“I have learnt so much on stage management as a woman and it has given me an opportunity to network with a lot of artists around Africa.

“From the festival, I’ve learnt that even women can multitask and there are a lot of things that we can do better than men in the industry such as hospitality towards artists as it comes naturally to us compared to the men.

“I urge fellow women in the arts sector to take up this as I’m one of three ladies from Zimbabwe who have been trained and advanced to stage management,” said Ndomupeishe.
