Zimbabwean 22-year-old student at African Bible College in Malawi, Joseph Muguwu has been nominated for the Maso Best Sound Engineer 2023 to be held on Saturday.
The Maso Awards began in 2019 by Maso Enterprises with the aim of promoting local music talent in Malawi offering opportunities for artists singing different genres.
“I am currently a student at African Bible College in my final year, and I work professionally as a sound engineer,” said Muguwu.
“Having grown up in the musical world as a young church drummer, I was exposed to good music at a young age. Since then my passion to grow musically spread to the world of sound engineering.
“From behind a mixing console, I felt the increased impact and responsibility on the people in the crowds, which drove me to serve more heartedly.
“What this award nomination signifies to me is that my goal to produce heart-moving quality has come to life.
“This nomination is also an inspiration to continue to challenge myself to grow and not be phased by my age, but only by my quality,” said Muguwu.
Speaking on Muguwu’s nomination, Maso said the nomination is, “recognition reflects your remarkable contribution towards helping the needy and underprivileged through your social media platforms.”
