THE African Youth Congress is expected to hold its conference in Zimbabwe this month.
The organisation is headquartered in Uganda, representing the collective voice and aspirations of youths from all 54 member-states across the African continent.
The conference will be held from May 23 to 26.
In an interview, African Youth Congress chairman Cde Taurai Kandishaya confirmed the conference dates and shared that preparations were underway to ensure a successful event
“Youths from across the continent are expected to attend the indaba, with the dates set for May 23-26 here in Zimbabwe. The conference will focus on issues affecting the youth, such as employment opportunities, youth participation in politics, how sanctions in Zimbabwe affect the African economies, youth empowerment programmes, among other issues,” said Cde Kandishaya.
More than 1000 youth are expected to attend
He stated that the conference marks a pivotal chapter in the journey to advance the interests of Africa’s youth, foster innovation, and build a unified, prosperous continent.
Presidents Mnangagwa and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda are co-patrons.
