theme, “Lifting Zimbabwe out of Energy Poverty.”
Solar energy experts from India are expected to attend the symposium to share their experiences since they have successfully installed a 1,4-gigawatt solar plant in their country.
Sheisam managing consultant Mr Simba Sibanda has said they want to learn from the Indians as they intend to construct a massive solar plant in Zimbabwe to alleviate current power shortages.
“We believe the Indian experts coming will assist us in how best we can go about our project as we intend to lift both individual and corporate citizens out of energy poverty by delivering 3 000 megawatts of PV solar energy by 2015,” he said.
Officials from the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers are also expected to take part in the deliberations.
