United States based Zimbabweans have launched a non-profit organisation that seeks to build connections between young people and entrepreneurs in the US and Zimbabwe, to promote knowledge exchange and partnerships that drive economic growth.
Ms Chiedza Juru and Mr Marshall Bizure are the co-founders of Annot Incorporated, which seeks to ignite the connections between young people and entrepreneurs in the US and Zimbabwe to promote economic growth partnerships.
The formation of Annot Inc comes at a time the Second Republic led by President Mnangagwa has been on a diplomatic drive under its engagement and re-engagement policy.
Ms Juru said: “In line with President Mnangagwa’ s call for Zimbabwe to engage and re-engage the global community, now is the time for Africans based in the diaspora to be part of global engagement by bridging the gap between Zimbabweans abroad and African entrepreneurs.
“As Annot Inc, we see a great opportunity to bring Africa to the negotiating table as an equal partner beginning with young people.”
The organisation would use education, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and diaspora engagement to achieve its objectives.
Young people are invaluable assets, bringing energy, talent and creativity to the job market.
Their motivation serves as the engine driving countries to grow, innovate, and prosper.
“What truly excites me about Annot is the opportunity to cultivate partnerships between the US and Africa for the benefit of young Africans, while also tapping into the potential of diaspora communities to help shape the Africa we envision,” she said.
The organisation’s leadership recently met Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the US, Tadius Chifamba and discussed mainly how Annot Inc would help to harness the untapped potential of Zimbabweans in the diaspora to enable them to participate in economic development in a structured and seamless way.
“We also discussed the need to bridge the skills gap between Zimbabweans in the diaspora and young people back home through skills exchange, mentorship and educational opportunities,” she said.
Mr Bizure said Annot sought to create a win-win partnership between US based investors and Africa to unlock the potential the continent has on becoming an economic powerhouse.
