Zimbabwe athletics team finally gets accredited

THE Zimbabwe team has finally been accredited in Accra, Ghana just six hours before the first race at the African Senior Athletics Championships on Tuesday.
The team has also received running bibs and numbers with Samukeliso Ndebele to take to the track at 1500 hours in the 100m.
Coach Phakamile Lisimati also confirmed that the mixed 4x400m relay team that was set to run on Tuesday had been pulled out to avoid a heavy load as team members are taking part in the 400m race.
“It’s unfortunate the 4x400m mixed relay team will no longer be taking part in the event because of load issues,” said Lisimati.
