Zimbabwe College of Music supporting local talent

Zimbabwe College of Music is set to conduct its first-ever clash of strings and strums as it hosts the Battle of the Bands on November 23.
The clash is aimed at giving the audience a glimpse of the talent in Zimbabwe by giving upcoming artists an opportunity to showcase their artistic prowess while flexing their guitar-playing skills and vocal abilities.

Organisers confirmed that the response has been overwhelming, proving how much talent is hidden within the country’s borders.

“We were looking at ways to promote our local talent, hence the need for such an initiative,” said the organisers.

“Nothing much has been done to expose the hidden gems within the industry. We got rough diamonds and we want to polish them.”

At least 24 bands have registered to compete in the battle, with some coming from cities like Bulawayo and Gweru.
