ZIMBABWE and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) have signed an agreement paving the way for the hosting of the 25th COMESA Summit of Heads of State and Government in Harare on October 22, 2026.
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira, said the signing marked a formal commitment between Zimbabwe and the COMESA Secretariat towards hosting a successful summit.
“The signing of this agreement represents a formal celebration of the partnership between the Government of Zimbabwe and the COMESA Secretariat towards the successful conclusion of the summit,” he said.
COMESA Secretary-General Chileshe Mpundu Kapwepwe, said she was honoured to participate in the signing ceremony ahead of the regional gathering.
“I am honoured and pleased to participate in this important signing ceremony of the postal agreement between the Republic of Zimbabwe and the COMESA Secretariat for the 25th COMESA Summit of Heads of State and Government,” she said.
The summit is scheduled for October 22 in Harare.
